What is Rob Wealth (Jie Cai) in BaZi?
Rob Wealth is the character with your Day Master's element but the opposite yin-yang polarity. Like Companion it is your own kind, but it strikes Direct Wealth more directly: on a weak chart it helps you carry Wealth; only on a strong chart with thin Wealth does it live up to its name.

Is Rob Wealth bad? First ask whether you can carry Wealth
Like Companion, Rob Wealth helps a weak chart and competes on a strong one. Weak Day Master, heavy Wealth: Rob Wealth steps in and shares the load. Strong Day Master, a little Wealth: Rob Wealth takes a cut.
Where it is rougher than Companion: it has the opposite polarity to you but the same polarity as your Direct Wealth, so it strikes Direct Wealth head-on. That is why tradition watches Rob Wealth sitting next to Direct Wealth. In our sample, 49.3% of charts with a visible Rob Wealth stem also contain Direct Wealth.
What is the Yang Blade (Yang Ren)?
A Yang Day Master born in the month where its Rob Wealth rules is called the Yang Blade. Jia in Mao, Bing in Wu, Geng in You, Ren in Zi: the month's main qi is Rob Wealth and the Day Master is at its peak.
The name sounds alarming, but the reading is simple: the Day Master is very strong and needs Officer/Killings to keep it in check — “the Blade wants Killings”. Folk links to temper or accidents are rough imagery; don't take them literally.
Does heavy Rob Wealth mean losing money or being let down by friends?
Rob Wealth is a structure, not a prophecy. Only when it is unfavourable and sits close to Direct Wealth does the imagery of competition, split profits or heavy spending apply; when it is favourable it usually shows as drive and the ability to borrow strength from others.
The fixes mirror Companion: Output lets Rob Wealth's energy flow into producing Wealth, or Officer/Killings keep the Peers in line.
Rob Wealth vs. Companion
Check polarity: same = Companion, opposite = Rob Wealth. For Jia, another Jia is Companion and Yi is Rob Wealth; for Yi it is the reverse.
Only 4.7% of charts show both on stems, so most charts lean one way. As with Companion, a Rob Wealth month does not define a structure.

Rob Wealth shows on a stem in 25.9% of charts. 73.5% of those contain Wealth and 49.3% contain Direct Wealth; strong charts with Wealth present — the ones to watch for competition — are 22.8% of Rob Wealth charts.
75.0% contain Officer/Killings, the means to restrain Peers. The calculator lists the Peer element as unfavourable in 25.1% and uses it as the Useful God in only 6.6%.

Shen, Zi and Chen also form a Water triple combination, and the calculator rates the Day Master strong. Year stem Jia is Eating God, month stem Bing is Indirect Wealth, hour stem Wu is Seven Killings, with more Wu hidden in Xu and Chen.
Calculator: Earth useful, Wood and Fire favourable, Metal and Water unfavourable — the Useful God is Seven Killings, the Blade's restraint. Winter Ren also takes Wu Earth first in our climate table, so strength and climate agree. Watch the Chen–Xu clash: Killings' two branch roots knock into each other, so when luck moves Chen or Xu the restraint tightens and loosens.
Ding You · Ji You · Bing Shen · Yi Wei (male, 21 Sep 1957, 15:00, Beijing)
Bing Fire is born in You: autumn Metal rules and Fire is out of season. The two You branches are Direct Wealth, Shen is Indirect Wealth and the month stem Ji is Hurting Officer — Wealth and Output both drain Bing, so it is slightly weak. Year stem Ding is Rob Wealth, hour stem Yi is Direct Resource.
Calculator: Fire useful, Wood and Water favourable, Metal and Earth unfavourable. The Useful God is the Rob Wealth element itself: with heavy Wealth and a weak Day Master, Rob Wealth is there to help carry Wealth, not to rob it. Water is Officer/Killings for Bing and strength alone would avoid it; it is favourable here as the autumn climate correction.
FAQ
Lots of Rob Wealth in my chart — will I never be able to save?
Not necessarily. Strong with thin Wealth and no Output to bridge it, money does tend to flow out; weak, Rob Wealth helps you carry Wealth. Luck cycles matter; the chart only shows tendencies.
A woman's chart with strong Rob Wealth — is that bad for marriage?
Some readings link Rob Wealth to romantic rivalry, but that is imagery. Marriage needs the day branch, Officer/Killings and the chart's favourable elements, not a count of Rob Wealth.
Is a Rob Wealth year good for starting a business or a partnership?
Favourable Rob Wealth is often read as being able to borrow strength; unfavourable, watch profit splits and contracts. In real life the people and the terms matter more than the year.
Are the Yang Blade and Rob Wealth the same thing?
Not quite. Rob Wealth is the Ten God; the Yang Blade is the specific branch where a Yang Day Master meets its Rob Wealth main qi (Jia–Mao, Bing–Wu, Geng–You, Ren–Zi), strongest when it is the month branch.
