What Plum Blossom divination is
Mei Hua Yi Shu is traditionally attributed to the Song-dynasty scholar Shao Yong. It builds on the eight trigrams and the Five Elements and needs no yarrow stalks or coins: a time, a number, a sound or something you notice can all start a reading.
A casting gives a primary hexagram (where things stand), a nuclear hexagram (how they unfold) and a changed hexagram (where they lead), turning on the moving line. The balance between the ‘self’ and ‘matter’ trigrams then suggests whether the situation is favorable.
How we do it
Casting rules follow the received text of the Mei Hua Yi Shu, and judgments quote the original Book of Changes (Zhou Yi) alongside plain explanations. The hexagram is drawn large, with the moving line highlighted.
A note on use
One question per casting. Results are cultural reference and do not make decisions for you.
