The Eating God (Shi Shen) is the element the Day Master produces, with the same polarity: talent, appetite and expression. Wealth (Cai) is the element the Day Master controls: money and resources. Eating God Produces Wealth (Shi Shen Sheng Cai) is the chain Day Master → Eating God → Wealth, where the output of a chart turns into income. Our test is narrow: Eating God exposed on a stem, Wealth present in the chart (a Wealth score above 0), and no special structure. Hurting Officer producing Wealth is the same chain with the other Output star and has its own entry. What decides whether the chain helps is the strength of the Day Master.

The chain helps only when the Day Master can afford to drain
Eating God Produces Wealth is a chain, and the chain spends force at every step. The Day Master produces Eating God, and Eating God produces Wealth. If the Day Master is strong, that spending is useful: the surplus leaves through talent and expression and comes back as money. Eating God and Wealth then both sit among the favorable elements.
If the Day Master is weak, the same chain takes away the little support it has. Of the 464 charts that held Eating God on a stem and Wealth in the chart, 59.3% were weak. In those charts Resource was the Useful element 77.5% of the time, because support has to arrive before output can be spent.
Eating God on the month command usually points the other way
A chart whose month branch main qi is Eating God is often weak, not set up for the pattern. The month command is the strongest single position, and Eating God there drains the Day Master from the start. Of the 58 charts with Eating God as the month branch main qi, only 15.5% were strong.
That does not remove the pattern; it changes the reading. When the Day Master is short of support, the first question is where Resource comes from, not how much Wealth the output can make.
Eating God and Hurting Officer carry the same weight in the scoring
Our strength points do not separate the two Output stars: they share one element and one weight. The difference between them is in image, and in how they meet other stars, not in how much they drain. The numbers show it plainly.
Charts with Hurting Officer on a stem, no Eating God, and Wealth in the chart numbered 399, and 40.6% were strong; the parallel Eating God group numbered 464, and 40.7% were strong. The gap is noise, so do not expect the label alone to change the balance.
The textbook shape, strong with Wealth also exposed, is rare
The clean version needs three things at once: a strong Day Master, Eating God on a stem and Wealth on a stem. Only 72 of the 464 charts met that, 15.5%.
That is why the phrase should be a starting point, not a stamp. Seeing Eating God and Wealth together tells you which chain is present; the strength count tells you whether the chain is welcome.
Indirect Resource can cut the link, and Seven Killings can pull Eating God away
Indirect Resource controls Eating God, so a strong chart with both has to watch that link. Indirect Resource was exposed on a stem in 21.8% of the 464 charts; among the 46 that were strong and also exposed it, the Resource element was unfavorable 71.7% of the time.
Seven Killings is a smaller side note: 15.9% of the 464 also exposed it on a stem. Eating God may be drawn toward controlling the Killings first, which is a different topic with its own entry. Neither star erases the chain; each changes which part of it gets used.
Two real charts
Geng Zi (庚子) · Gui Wei (癸未) · Wu Shen (戊申) · Ji Wei (己未) (male, Jul 19, 1960, 14:15, Beijing)
This is the pattern at its clearest: a strong Day Master with room to drain, and both Eating God and Wealth in the favorable column. True solar time was 13:54. The Day Master is Wu Earth, born in a Wei month; the main qi of Wei is Ji Earth, Rob Wealth, so the month command supports the Day Master. The stems are Geng Eating God, Gui Direct Wealth and Ji Rob Wealth. The branches are Zi Direct Wealth, Wei Rob Wealth, Shen Eating God and Wei Rob Wealth.
The scoring gives Companions 2.9, Wealth 1.8, Output 1.1, Resource 0.9 and Officer/Killings 0.3, and the chart is strong (month support; support 3.8, pressure 3.2). Useful element Metal (Output), favorable Water and Wood, unfavorable Earth and Fire. Born in midsummer, Water is also the climate adjustment, so the Wealth element is not merely allowed but wanted.
The chain is visible: the year stem Geng Eating God sits on the year branch Zi Direct Wealth, and the day branch Shen is Eating God again. Earth scores 2.9, so there is plenty of force, and Eating God drains it and then produces Wealth. Nothing in this chart needs to stop the drain; the topic is doing its named job.
Bing Shen (丙申) · Yi Wei (乙未) · Gui Mao (癸卯) · Wu Wu (戊午) (female, Aug 4, 1956, 11:45, Beijing)
Here the same two Ten Gods appear, but the Day Master is weak, so the chain drains instead of feeds. True solar time was 11:24, and the birth was before that year's Start of Autumn, so it is still a Wei month. The Day Master is Gui Water, born in a Wei month; the main qi of Wei is Ji Earth, Seven Killings. The stems are Bing Direct Wealth, Yi Eating God and Wu Direct Officer. The branches are Shen Direct Resource, Wei Seven Killings, Mao Eating God and Wu Indirect Wealth.
The scoring gives Officer/Killings 2.58, Output 2.2, Wealth 1.77, Resource 0.3 and Companions 0.15, and the chart is weak (support 0.45, pressure 6.55). Useful element Metal (Resource), favorable Water, unfavorable Wood and Fire. Wood is Output and Fire is Wealth, and both sit in the unfavorable list.
The month stem Yi Eating God and the day branch Mao Eating God feed the year stem Bing Fire and the hour branch Wu Fire, which are Wealth. For a Gui Day Master with only 0.45 in support, that is a drain followed by a spend. What this chart wants is the year branch Shen Metal, Direct Resource, to feed the Day Master; Eating God producing Wealth is the wrong direction here.
Data: how often Eating God Produces Wealth actually works
Eating God was exposed on a stem in 491 charts, and 464 of those also had Wealth, 23.2% of all 2,000 charts. In that group 40.7% were strong (189 charts) and 59.3% were weak (275). The whole set of non-special charts is 53.2% weak, so Eating God charts lean weaker than average.
In the 189 strong charts, the Useful element was Officer/Killings 38.1%, Output 33.3% and Wealth 28.6%. The Eating God element (Output) was useful or favorable 98.9% of the time, the Wealth element 99.5%, and both together 98.4%.
In the 275 weak charts, the Useful element was Resource 77.5% and Companions 22.5%. The Output element was unfavorable 59.6%, the Wealth element 70.5%, and both together 35.6%. The same two stars that help a strong chart burden a weak one.
The textbook combination, strong with Wealth also on a stem, was 72 charts, 15.5% of the 464. Eating God as the month branch main qi appeared in 58 charts, and only 15.5% of those were strong. Indirect Resource was also on a stem in 21.8%; among the 46 strong charts with it, the Resource element was unfavorable 71.7%. Seven Killings was also on a stem in 15.9%. The Hurting Officer comparison group was 399 charts, 40.6% strong.

- Eating God Produces Wealth guarantees money: only 40.7% of the 464 charts were strong, and a weak chart usually takes Resource as the Useful element instead.
- Eating God and Hurting Officer differ in strength: they share one element in the scoring; with Wealth, Hurting Officer charts were strong 40.6% and Eating God charts 40.7%.
- If Eating God commands the month, the pattern is strong: of 58 such charts only 15.5% were strong, because the month command drains the Day Master.
- Indirect Resource never matters here: 21.8% of the 464 exposed it, and in the strong subgroup the Resource element was unfavorable 71.7%, so it can cut the Eating God link.
FAQ
Does Eating God produces Wealth always mean I will be rich?
No. It describes a chain from expression to income, and it works best when the Day Master is strong. In the 2,000 charts we cast, 464 held Eating God on a stem with Wealth, and only 40.7% were strong. Money also depends on the whole chart, the luck cycles, your work and real chances. One pattern cannot promise a bank balance.
What kind of work suits Eating God produces Wealth?
The image is talent, food, communication or craft turning into money, especially in a strong chart where Eating God and Wealth are favorable. But the chart alone does not assign a job. Skills, training, opportunity and what you actually enjoy matter just as much. Use the pattern as a direction to explore, not as a career order.
My Day Master is weak but I still have Eating God and Wealth. What now?
Then the first need is support, not more output. In the 275 weak charts, Resource was the Useful element 77.5% of the time and Companions 22.5%; the Output element was unfavorable 59.6% and Wealth 70.5%. Look for Resource in the natal chart or in the luck cycles. Adding more output or more money pressure usually makes a weak chart more tired.
What happens when Eating God produces Wealth meets Indirect Resource (Xiao Shen)?
Indirect Resource controls Eating God, so it can cut the chain. In the 464 charts, 21.8% exposed Indirect Resource on a stem, and among the 46 strong ones the Resource element was unfavorable 71.7% of the time.
