Yun says: In the same minute, the West says "Scorpio season" and China says "Frost's Descent." Both are watching the same Sun.

Quick answer: Scorpio season 2026 begins on October 23 at 09:38 UTC (5:38 AM Eastern, 2:38 AM Pacific) and ends on November 22 at 07:23 UTC, when the Sun enters Sagittarius. That same instant is Frost's Descent (霜降, Shuangjiang), one of the 24 Chinese solar terms.

Scorpio season 2026 dates

If you were born on October 23, 2026 before the start time in your zone, your Sun is still in Libra.

Why Scorpio season and Frost's Descent are the same moment

Both systems track the Sun along the same path, the ecliptic. The Chinese calendar cuts it into 24 slices of 15°; the zodiac cuts it into 12 slices of 30°. Frost's Descent is the moment the Sun reaches 210°, and 210° is exactly where Scorpio begins. The same is true all year: the spring equinox is 0° Aries, the winter solstice is 0° Capricorn.

Frost's Descent in BaZi

In BaZi (Chinese Four Pillars), months change at the "major" solar terms, and Frost's Descent is a "minor" one. So the month pillar stays Wu Xu (the Earth Dog month) until the Start of Winter on November 7, 2026 at 09:52 UTC. The weeks around Frost's Descent are some of the most Earth-heavy of the year. Whether that helps you depends on your own chart.
