Yun says: For one minute on November 22, the West says "Sagittarius season" and China says "Minor Snow." Both are describing the same Sun.

Quick answer: Sagittarius season 2026 begins on November 22 at 07:23 UTC — 2:23 a.m. Eastern, November 21 at 11:23 p.m. Pacific — and ends on December 21 at 20:50 UTC (3:50 p.m. Eastern), when the Sun enters Capricorn. That first instant is also Xiaoxue (小雪), Minor Snow, the 20th of China's 24 solar terms.

When is Sagittarius season 2026?

Sagittarius season 2026 runs from November 22 at 07:23 UTC to December 21 at 20:50 UTC, when the Sun enters Capricorn.

If you were born on November 22, 2026 before the start time in your zone, your Sun is still in Scorpio.

What does Sagittarius season feel like?

Sagittarius season tends to bring restlessness, blunt curiosity, travel plans and impatience with rules. The mood is humorous and friendly, with promises that can outrun the calendar.

Sagittarius is the part of the year when the mind wants a horizon. People get restless, book trips, sign up for a class, or suddenly say the thing they have been holding back. The mood is blunt, curious and a little impatient with rules. Humor comes easier, and so do promises that are bigger than the calendar can hold.

It is not a month-long personality test. A season describes the weather, not the whole climate. Some years that weather is a breeze; this year it arrives with a long Mars transit in Virgo and Jupiter turning retrograde, which tends to turn some of that enthusiasm into detail work and second drafts.

What sky events happen in December 2026?

December 2026 includes a new moon in Sagittarius on December 9 and a full moon in Cancer on December 24. Saturn stations direct on December 10, Jupiter turns retrograde on December 13, and the December solstice closes the season on December 21.

The new moon on December 9 is a good moment to choose one concrete thing you want to learn or one place you actually intend to go. The Saturn station favors finishing what is already in front of you, not adding another project. Jupiter's turn on December 13 is covered in more detail in Jupiter retrograde 2026: the optimism does not disappear, but it asks for evidence.

Why is Sagittarius season also Minor Snow?

Both the zodiac and the Chinese solar calendar measure the Sun along the ecliptic, and Sagittarius begins at 240°, exactly where Minor Snow begins.

Both the zodiac and the Chinese solar calendar measure the Sun's position along the same path, the ecliptic. The zodiac divides that path into twelve signs of 30°. The solar terms divide it into twenty-four slices of 15°. Sagittarius begins at 240°, and 240° is exactly where Minor Snow begins.

In BaZi, China's Four Pillars system, the month does not change at Minor Snow. It is a "qi" or minor term, and month pillars turn at the "jie" or major terms. So the month stays Jihai (己亥) until Major Snow on December 7 at 02:52 UTC, when it becomes Gengzi. November 22 itself is the 14th day of the 10th lunar month, with a Gengzi day pillar.

What is the difference between a Sagittarius Sun and Sagittarius rising?

A Sagittarius Sun comes from the Sun's position on your birthday, while a Sagittarius rising comes from the sign on the eastern horizon at your exact birth time and place. The Sun is about direction and meaning, while the rising sign shapes how you meet the room.

Your Sun sign comes from the Sun's position on your birthday. Your rising sign comes from the sign climbing over the eastern horizon at the exact time and place you were born, which is why two people born the same day can read very differently. Sagittarius Sun is about direction and meaning; Sagittarius rising is more about how you meet the room — friendly, direct, maybe a little hard to pin down.

If you know your birth time, cast your chart and look at both. If you do not, the Sun sign is still a solid starting point.
