How we calculate Western astrology

How our Western astrology chart is computed.
1. Moment of birth
We turn your clock time into universal time using the historical time zone and daylight saving rules of your birthplace, then compute the sky for that instant at the birthplace's latitude and longitude.
2. Positions and houses
Planet positions come from a high-precision astronomical ephemeris (the same family used by professional astrology software), in the tropical zodiac. Houses default to Placidus; Whole Sign and Equal houses are available. Major aspects use standard orbs, and every aspect shows its exact orb.
3. How we check it
We compared Sun, Moon, planets, Ascendant and Midheaven against professional software for several sets of public birth data, and an automatic test checks the Sun's sign change dates every year before release.
4. How we read it
Readings follow modern psychological astrology in plain words: what a placement tends to feel like and how it shows up, not fixed fate. No predictions about illness, death or lawsuits.
FAQ
Tropical or sidereal zodiac?
Western charts use the tropical zodiac. Our Vedic section uses the sidereal zodiac, so the same planet can show a different sign there.
Why can't you show houses for my birth?
Without a birth time we can't compute the Ascendant or houses, so we show planets by sign only. Placidus can also fail very close to the poles; then you can switch to Whole Sign or Equal houses.
Do you use true solar time here?
No. Astrology needs the real moment of birth in universal time, so we use your clock time, your birthplace's historical time zone and daylight saving, and its exact coordinates.
